Metro and ATS Reporting Systems by Jeremy Lyons
This week we’re going to liken different ATS’ data schemas to metro systems.
Ermmm why?
Inspiration is weird. It likes to tag along to things and poke you at funny times. This is a case for that and some levity for the week.
Fair enough. You may proceed.
Ashby / SmartRecruiters (pre-Winston) = The New York Metro. Why? Level of depth and flexibility is akin to the sprawling, interconnected, and multi-line NYC Subway. Also like the NYC Subway, it is entirely possible to be on the correct platform and step onto the wrong train only to find out you were misinterpreting the directions the entire time.
Gem = Hong Kong MTR. Why? The Hong Kong MTR is renowned for its efficiency, clarity, and seamless interconnectivity, making complex journeys simple for riders. Similarly, Gem’s reporting is both powerful and user-friendly, turning vast, complex recruiting data into clear, actionable insights for recruiters and executives alike. There also can be a learning curve to make sure you are heading in the right direction.
iCIMS = Tokyo Metro. Why? iCIMS provides advanced analytics with customizable dashboards, filters, and KPIs across multiple products. Its reporting is robust and highly configurable, supporting large organizations with diverse needs. Mirroring the intricate and efficient Tokyo Metro system, easy to get lost but also easy to find your way back.
Greenhouse = Los Angeles (without BIC) / London Metro (with BIC). Why? Greenhouse’s out of the box offering is convenient and gets you close to where you want to go. Like true LA, you might need a car (Google Sheets connector) to finish out the journey. With the Business Intelligence Connector (BIC), you get to go a lot more places with more added complexity and good payoff like the London Metro.
Pinpoint = Washington DC Metro. Why? It is modern, it is efficient. It gets you to where you need to go without too much of a learning curve and you get ease of use when building a dashboard.
TeamTailor = Portland Link Light Rail. Why? Also modern, efficient, while giving you what you need to get the basics out of the way.
Feel free to include any we missed in the comments!
