In last week’s issue, I mentioned The Godfather. Mickey Pearson asked if that was because it was mentioned in the movie Barbie. While it hadn’t been my intention, it got me thinking about scenes and themes from the movie that I could use for this week. So, thank you for the suggestion Mickey - this meme is for you!
Every RecOps professional has gone through this. A new tool/process/change is imminent. They know they must write the documentation, do live training sessions, or record videos for their recruiters. They cover every possible contingency and think through all the angles. Most importantly, they know the data and adoption will be key. They put the whole process into play and…
Only 50% of the TA team listened.
So the RecOps pro sends a reminder email. Mentions it in stand-up meetings. They plead. More Looms. More, more, more, and still blank stares.
These are the moments where, as a TA team it is important to come together and commit to the change because, if you don’t, then it is bad data in and bad data out that could be avoided. Work and communicate the styles of the team in order to make the biggest impact.

Tom Allegretti is an accomplished builder with a track record of implementing project management methodologies and data-driven decision-making to achieve positive business results. His experience includes HR Strategic Planning, People Programs, Recruiting Operations, and Finance. Throughout his career, Tom has been part of or led the design, build, and launch of new functions within the People team, including Recruiting Operations teams at Branch Metrics and Aurora Innovation, as well as an HR Project Management team at Allstate Insurance. Tom has led charity fundraisers raising money and awareness at his prior companies and volunteers for the Gay for Good organization.
